#TheSundayPost #I'mBack!

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted here @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.  See rules here: Sunday Post Meme

Talk about making plans-ha!  We went on our vacation and I think I read about 5 pages. The husband was not feeling well, vertigo, nausea, headaches--daughter was not feeling well. My medication usually means I'm not up to par...I did most of the driving.  Husband and Daughter felt better when we got past the mountains on the way home. I think it was a case of altitude and maybe mold or other allergies.  It wasn't Covid, so I guess that is something since where we vacationed has a low vaccine rate, and only about 1 in 10 people we saw were wearing masks indoors. While we are all vaccinated, we wore masks when indoors in public places due to the spread of the Delta Variant.

The house we rented was as nice as the pictures, to be honest, I felt like I did as much cooking and cleaning as if we were home.  My new goal is to vacation at an all-inclusive! The main purpose of this trip was to see my parents so that we were able to do and that's what counts. It had been years!

We also got to see my brother from Canada and it had been four years since we had gotten to see him. One of our kids stayed home because he couldn't get off work, which was a bummer, he was missed!  My other brother and his family came down with Covid right after we arrived, so we did not see them at all. They are not vaccinated.

It is a real disappointment to have done everything we can to not catch or spread Covid only to see far too many people choose not to do what they can do to stop the virus from infecting other people. If I had to describe our trip in a phrase, I would call it emotionally taxing.

Since we got home, I've been noticeably fatigued--stupid medicine.  I hope I will figure out how to manage the fatigue--ie. how to feed myself more energy and how to manage my life so I'm not overpromising and underdelivering.  An example of that is I was going to have a garage sale this week, but by the time we were headed home last Sunday I knew I was not going to pull it off!

What I can manage to do this week is share my thoughts on these three books--

Thanks for reading my blog.  Typing things out helped me feel better!  How was your week?

Sorry the trip was filled with people not feeling well.
We have opted to stay close to home. My husband and I plan to take a trip in October but also plan to keep our distance if we can.
It amazes me how many people haven't gotten the vaccine. This would have been contained by now if they did.

Anyway..
Have a great week, Victoria! Happy Reading! xx

We've been shocked at the people who are not masked. It's very frustrating.

I'm glad you were able to get away, even though everyone felt badly.

Sorry your family didn't feel well during vacation! That's no fun but glad they are feeling better. I very rarely read on vacation. I always have big plans to read tons of books but it almost never happens! I'm a big fan of all inclusive vacations. I'm not a fan of cooking while away! It is good to have space for snacks and drinks but that's as far as I go! Have a wonderful week!

I'm glad you were able to see some family. I often have a heavy load traveling with driving, planning, finding gluten free eats, etc. I try to do a lot of the planning in advance and have some meals as easy ones, especially breakfasts. I've only had all inclusive in Jamaica and it was good. They had fish which I loved.

I'm sorry about your family. It is just selfish not to be vaccinated if you can. There are people with issues who can't and children who are now in danger. At least you got to see some of them. I listen to audio while driving. I hope you read some great books!

We do have a 6 year old who can't get vaccinated yet, so we always mask up, but to see so many not wearing one still. :( We did a total outside on trails and in open spaces trip, and stayed at a cabin. I also felt like I did a lot of cleaning and cooking...lol. I am glad that you had fun though!

I'm sorry so many weren't feeling well on your trip. It doesn't sound very relaxing. All inclusives are definitely the way to go, if you can :)

I hope this will be a good week for you.

Glad you were able to see your parents! I can sympathize with your husband since I got sick on our vacation too. No fun! Anyway glad it was a nice trip despite that.

It is tough and I agree about Covid. We're vaccinated and mask too and seeing others just blow it off (or worse, actually PROTEST or harass people who DO take precautions) is mind boggling to me. I have vaccine hesitant people in my family too- it's frustrating.

Hope you have a nice week. :)

Sorry to hear about the sickness woes! I hope everyone feels better soon.
That Stacey Abrams book looks like an excellent read!

I'm glad you were able to see some of your family but I'm sorry no one seemed to feel well. We've stayed at a couple of all-inclusive hotels before, in Mexico and Jamaica. They're nice for vacations when you really just need to relax.

I hope this week is better!

It is too bad that there was so much stress during your trip, but seeing family that you have not seen in a long time must have made it worth it. I hope you figure out what else you can do to get the energy you need, Victoria.
