I just finished working through the copy edits on my upcoming book and I sent it off to my proofreader. I personally don't use beta readers. I brainstormed the book with an editor who specializes in romance, then I wrote the rough draft, revised it and sent it to my editor for developmental edits, then I revised it and sent it to my editor for copy edits. Then I went through all the edits, and now it's off for proofreading. 

A lot of human effort and no AI. 

Then I'll fix all the mistakes proofreading will fine and it will be ready for formatting for ARC readers! Yay! 

All that is to say, I have a bunch of blog posts that are in my head, but I haven't had time to write them!

The last day of school was on Thursday, and I can say with certainty that the staff was more excited than the students to start summer break!  Some of the kids were crying, how sweet! The staff was jumping for joy. 

In the garden, my sugar snap peas are growing! I'm going to have a good crop! I've been able to start harvesting lettuce. Yesterday I planted cucumber seeds and basil seeds. This year I'm trying direct sowing. Next weekend, I feel confident the soil will be warm enough to plant zucchini seeds and green beans. Will gardening from seeds work this summer? We will see! 

Today I was part of a book fair at a library. My first time in a library as an author! A dream come true and we didn't take pictures! Arg! All I have is a picture of my table.

This week I have a dental appointment, an annual medical exam, and a colonoscopy. After those tests and appointments, I made an appointment for a facial.

I finished reading a book I got from the Amazon First Reads program the other day. It's called "Divorce Towers." This was my first experience reading Ellen Meister. I enjoyed the book. Instead of one POV, there are three POV characters. The first is Addison, our main character. The second is Addison's seventy-five-year-old uncle Arnie, and the third is Carly, who is a domestic abuse survivor. The multiple POVs and the three plots overlap and come to a conclusion at the end of the book. Don't worry, there is a HEA. The book is a quick read; in addition to romance, there are mysteries to solve. Ellen Meister does a nice job with the Beverly Hills setting. 

At a couple of points in the book, conversations or events were summarized instead of taking place on the page, and I would have enjoyed being there for those conversations. It would have made the book longer, but also more entertaining. Overall, this is a fun book, an easy relaxing read.
