Happy Black History Month! I read that the administration is trying to cancel the celebration of Black History. Now IMO, Black History is America's history and it can't be canceled. This week I'm sharing some of my favorite Black authors and their books.

Wishing you a good week in these trying times.

Happy Black History Month! I love this post, and cute gnomes too. Happy reading this week. I've got The Underground Railroad on Mt. TBR.

the administration is doing some strange things, i hope you are not overly impacted. if you're looking for some authors of color I'd suggest Yaa Gyasi and NK Jemisin. Have a great weekend. https://getlostinlit.blogspot.com/2025/02/the-sunday-post.html

Happy Black History Month! You have some good choices. I've been wanting to read Stacey Abrams. Her books look good. Have a great week!

Happy Black History Month! And February (how is it February already??) I don't know why they'd want to cancel such a thing... such misguided priorities

The current administration can try, but it doesn't meant the rest of us will follow suit. Hopefully most won't. These are great authors and titles. I read another of Colson's books, The Nickel Boys and thought it was really good. I hope you have a good week!

I always try to choose books for Black History Month highlighting authors of colour or with African American characters. I just read By Her Design, historical fiction about a famous African American Designer. She actually designed Jackie Kennedy's wedding dress. It's by Piper Hugely and is an excellent book. I highly recommend it. Happy February, Victoria.
