Debut Spicy Romantasy from Kris Julian!!!

Need to escape and can't afford the gas for a proper trip?  Disappear into Kris Julian's debut book!

A lost princess. A prince determined to protect her. And a villain who will stop at nothing to find her.

Twenty-one years ago, the princess of the Sun Court Fae was kidnapped and thought lost forever. Elemental prince Kiernan is determined to prove his worth and distance himself from the reputation of his absent, abusive father. When rumors of the princess' survival reach his ears, he jumps at the chance to investigate the shocking possibility - for how could an elemental princess survive unnoticed on earth - a place where magic is outlawed? After enduring years of experimentation and punishment at the hands of a sadistic captor, Claire made a daring escape. For years, she's been one step ahead of the one who imprisoned her, but those steps have taken her far from the dream of a place to call home. When Kiernan - mysterious, charming, and surprisingly protective - enters her life, she dares to dream of more. Relentlessly pursued by her captor, Claire and Kiernan must flee to the realm Kiernan calls home. Can she learn to trust him and his family's vows of safety and support? Or will the fears of her past consume her like wildfire? Shadows of Smoke is an adult fantasy romance with a lush blend of Celtic mythology and Arthurian romance. It is the first in a series of interconnected standalones and perfect for fans of Rebecca F Kenney and Clare Sager. Kris Julian lives in the suburbs of Chicago with two cats who are just as likely to cause trouble as they are to snuggle in a lap. While she has always been an avid reader, it wasn’t until she pulled a random bodice ripper off the library shelf in her grandparents’ retirement community that she fell in love with romance. An avid collector of dragons and rubber ducks, when not writing, you can usually find her enjoying all the culture Chicago has to offer, or chilling on her couch with ice cream and a ghost hunting show on TV. https://www.authorkrisjulian.com/

Sealed by Lexxi James

Time to add a 5-star book by Lexxi James to your TBR!~~

A single-dad ex-SEAL. A Hollywood starlet he didn’t sign up for. And a one-night stand that changes everything…

Ava

There are men I know to avoid.

Harrison Evans? He’s the poster boy for them.

Gruff. Unapologetically male. The kind of gorgeous that comes wrapped in barbed wire and a warning label. He’s got danger carved into his bones and grief etched into his soul. And me? I have my own heart to mend.

So, of course, I let him ruin me for one reckless, desperate night.

One night that should have been enough.

But fate is a fickle bitch, because now, he’s everywhere. The coffee shop. The grocery store. The hallway outside the penthouse the studio put me up in… that just happens to be in his building.

Coincidence? I think not.

Avoiding him? Impossible.

The single dad of three heartbreakingly beautiful kids. A man who believes in love and second chances as much as he believes in fairytales and unicorns.

But fate has a way of shoving us together. And no matter how hard I try to stay away, no matter how many times I push him away—Harrison Evans is determined to be in my life…

Harrison

One night. That’s all it was supposed to be.

But now, she’s my problem. A favor to a man I owe my life to. Protect Ava. Without her knowing.

Fine. I can do that. But there are rules:

One—No getting attached. I’ve got three kids, a houseful of chaos, and exactly zero bandwidth for distractions. Especially not ones with hypnotic green eyes and a habit of biting her lip like she wants trouble.

Two—Maintain professional distance. No exceptions. And for the love of God, stop staring at her lips.

Three—Absolutely no repeating the best night of my damn life. It’s called a one-night stand for a reason. The clue is in the name.

But between Ava’s stalker, my kids plotting her permanent adoption, and this growing, possessive ache in my chest every time she looks at me like I’m the only man on the planet—sticking to the rules is taking every last ounce of willpower.

I’ve survived war. I’ve survived heartbreak.

But Ava Alvarez?

If I don’t keep every last one of my feelings zip-tied and gagged in the trunk, this woman has the capacity to destroy me.

I just finished working through the copy edits on my upcoming book and I sent it off to my proofreader. I personally don't use beta readers. I brainstormed the book with an editor who specializes in romance, then I wrote the rough draft, revised it and sent it to my editor for developmental edits, then I revised it and sent it to my editor for copy edits. Then I went through all the edits, and now it's off for proofreading.

A lot of human effort and no AI.

Then I'll fix all the mistakes proofreading will fine and it will be ready for formatting for ARC readers! Yay!

All that is to say, I have a bunch of blog posts that are in my head, but I haven't had time to write them!

If you like to read romance, be one of my ARC readers! https://forms.gle/aFLnwknLy61uqC2p6

She was the cute girl with the top locker. He was her high school crush. When they meet again 25 years later, will the spark become a flame?

I did find time to watch Nealey on Prime this week and I loved it!

A good month of reading. I highly enjoyed Down to a Science, Let's Give Em Pumpkin to Talk About, and Bass-Ackwards. How was your reading month?

So I kicked off September by taking a sick day because the little gremlins at work gave me some sort of virus. It ridiculously hot this week and on Thursday and Friday we had indoor recess. No one likes indoor recess, and it makes me cranky that we had to have it because of excessive heat in September!

I've been staying indoors away from the heat and ragweed working on feeling better and trying to manifest Fall. (so far it is not working LOL)
I broke out the big guns yesterday. Pumpkin Bonfire smells so good. Today I might make pumpkin bread.
