Romancing Mister Bridgerton, Penelope and Colin!

Tbh, I would like this book to be the next season of Bridgerton on Netflix.  Benedict (of the TV show) is very meh to me, that being said, I look forward to how the TV show will portray his book, it could be amazing.  I assume that for sure, Bridgerton will include the lake scene!

Anyway now back to Penelope and Colin, this book has a 10-year flash forward and Penelope is a spinster and she is fine with it and Colin has been successfully avoiding marriage for years. We get both Penelope's and Colin's POVs in this book. This book is an excellent portrayal of the Friends to Lovers trope.

I loved the amount of Lady Danbury in this book and I have a good feeling we will see lots of her when this book is on the screen. There is a major plot point that has been changed from the book to the show already at the end of Season 2 on the screen involving who figures out who is Lady Whistledown.

Overall I would say that it is uncommon in a book for a male character to admit they are jealous of a female character and furthermore to admit that their jealousy was fueling anger toward the female lead. Thank goodness we get to read a story here where the male character does come to grips with jealousy and anger, a nice change of pace.

4 starts for Romancing Mister Bridgerton

#TheSundayPost -- It's Sunday Already?

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted here @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.  See rules here: Sunday Post Meme

Hello!  How was your week?  For me, this was a week that flew by, except for the part when I was doing my 9-mile long run, that part of my Saturday went by very slowly. But I finished the whole 9 miles, hooray for me!  Next week double digits! I also made the decision to start selling Tastefully Simple again, I really loved my days talking about and selling food and I'm excited to do it again!

I didn't get as much reading done as I was planning on reading, but that was due to watching a couple of very entertaining TV shows on Netflix. The first show we watched has two seasons but we accidentally watched season two before season one. It's called The Mire  97 it's a Polish show and it's about a murder in a small town.  Super entertaining.  And then I wanted to watch something without subtitles, but nothing caught my eye until I saw a preview of Biohackers  This is a German show, it's a thriller about shady scientific research and illegal gene manipulation, the main characters are compelling and I feel like I know enough German to occasionally follow a line or two of dialogue.  I recommend both shows.

Reading for this week, my hold on Last Chance Books was available, so I'm reading that this week as well as Floor Time by Liz Crowe and The Ghost and Mrs. McClure by Cleo Coyle.

Snow Day

An unexpected snow day arrived today. Unexpected in that we didn't know a large snow fall was going to be occurring at this time last week. Expected if you watched any local Chicagoland News the past 72 hours.

If you ask me, all large snowfalls should occur on Fridays. This gives everyone who can work from home or skip work the opportunity of sorts for a bit of a 3 day weekend. It also allows two days for roads to be cleared for the Monday commute.

I'm grateful that if we must have a bunch of snow in February,  it has occurred this Friday and not next Friday.  Both Anna and Patrick are heading to Disney (and Universal) for their respective music department trips and these trips have been months (Patrick) and years (Anna) in the making.

Additionally I'm grateful that when it comes February snows,  I'm able to look at it this way; snow in February is just one last hurdle before we welcome Spring. Yes, I'm well aware it often snows in March, but IDC, IDC.  March is virtually Spring.

If you are snowed in, and are looking for something to binge, let me recommend Altered Carbon on Netflix Great futuristic show, 10 episodes so perfect for a snowy weekend.
